Blogger Love-A-Thon: Mini Challenge #4 – Mash-Up

Today as we continue the second day of the 3rd Annual Book Blogger Love-A-Thon we’re starting off with a Mash-Up. For this mini challenge we’ll be discussing a non-bookish hobby/passion/talent in connection to books.

While the biggest passion of my life is my children (I love my hubby too), my other passions include dance, entertainment and movies. Storytelling, really. I also enjoy crafting and decorating kids’ rooms, but those aren’t on the table for book connections today.

Noel Streatfield’s Ballet Shoes, Dancing Shoes and Theater Shoes will always have a special place in my heart. I remember reading these as a kid and they’re still on my bookshelf. While it’s been quite some time since I last opened one and read about the adventures of three incredible little girls, I can still feel the magic of the series. There are lots of books I’ve read involving dance but those are my favorite. However be on the lookout for the first in a series I’ll be writing this year entitled Dance Studio Dramas revolving around the girls at a competitive dance studio and their dictator-like studio owner (ala The Devil Wears Prada type of evil) of whom they secretly call “El Diablo.” I’m very excited about this series and hope you’ll enjoy it as well.

There are lots of books about entertainment and movies that I’ve read but honestly off the top of my head none are standing out at this moment.

I’d love to hear any recommendations you have for fiction entertainment and dance books.

  1. I love the sound of Dance Studio Dramas! Can’t wait to read that!

  2. Oh, yes! I have a weakness for books about dancing, and usually consider adding them at the mere mention of dancing being involved. Definitely going to keep an eye out for this one!
